Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring timely reporting of any abnormalities.
- Maintain patient safety through proper manual handling techniques and safe lifting practices, including the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Document patient information meticulously in electronic health records (EHR systems) while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
Skills
- Proven experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant within a long-term care facilities.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and record management.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and healthcare team members in caregiving roles.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices during patient transfers or manual handling tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards while managing sensitive medical records.
