Your responsibilities include
- Performing daily floor care in corridors, activity and craft rooms, dining rooms, and other assigned areas.
- Handling trash removal and linen pickups throughout the day.
- Working under the guidance of the Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure all tasks meet quality and safety standards.
- Trash & Linen Management: Collect and dispose of trash and linens from multiple areas of the facility up to 5 times daily.
- Floor Care: Dry mop and wet mop floors; scrub and buff solid surfaces or shampoo carpets on a routine basis.
- Safety & Infection Control: Remove infectious waste and dispose of it properly in designated areas.
- Maintenance Support: Observe and report repair needs for equipment, furniture, and fixtures; keep assigned equipment clean and in good repair.
- Organization: Maintain equipment rooms in a clean, organized manner.
- Furniture Handling: Move facility or resident furniture as assigned.
- Deep Cleaning: Perform heavy-duty cleaning in larger spaces such as dining or meeting rooms.
- Event Support: Set up and take down tables for special events throughout the facility.
- Compliance: Follow all state and federal regulations, as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Housekeeping Policies and Procedures
- Must have the ability to interact tactfully, diplomatically and effectively with staff, residents, family members, visitors, volunteers and other Luther Manor guest.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with residents and the ability to read, write and communicate using the English language.
- Must have the ability to spend 90% of the work shift moving about the work area. Must be physically capable of performing job functions throughout an eight-hour shift, include up to approximately 35 pounds.
- Must be able to demonstrate skills and knowledge of the proper use of chemicals and equipment use.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess the ability to organize and manage time, set priorities and complete assignments on a timely basis under the supervision of the housekeeping supervisor.
- Actively participates in or initiates problem solving in job-related issues. Works positively with coworkers.
- Ability to frequently perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to see objects closely, discriminate colors, and to hear normal sounds within some background of noise.
