What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Service Manager position at Luther Ford Lincoln?
Automotive Service Manager - Ford/Lincoln Dealership | Homer City, PA
About Us
Luther Ford Lincoln is a growing, privately owned Ford and Lincoln dealership in Homer City, PA. We are seeking an experienced, high-energy Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department and drive performance across all areas of fixed operations. This is a rare opportunity to join a dealership that is actively investing in its people, its processes, and its future.
The Opportunity
This is a full leadership role with real autonomy and real accountability. You will own the service department — from technician productivity and advisor performance to WIP management, customer satisfaction, and gross profit. We are looking for someone who has been there, done it, and is ready to build something. If you are a process-driven leader who knows how to develop people, manage a shop, and hit numbers — we want to talk to you.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Leading and developing a team of service advisors and technicians to hit monthly gross profit and productivity targets
- Managing daily WIP — open RO aging, dispatch, and job flow through the shop
- Driving multi-point inspection compliance and declined service capture on every vehicle
- Monitoring and improving technician efficiency and productivity metrics daily
- Partnering with the Parts Manager to ensure parts staging, fill rate, and communication support the service lane
- Maintaining Ford CSI scores and ensuring compliance with Ford warranty and policy requirements
- Recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining service department talent
- Reviewing and acting on daily operating control reports and financial statements
- Managing the customer experience from write-up to delivery — ensuring every interaction reflects our dealership standards
- Working closely with the Fixed Operations Director and Dealer Principal on department goals and performance
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Service Manager or Assistant Service Manager at a franchised dealership
- Ford or Lincoln experience strongly preferred
- Proven track record of hitting labor gross, ELR, and CSI targets
- Strong understanding of technician pay plans, flat rate, and shop productivity metrics
- Experience with dealer management systems — Autosoft, CDK, Reynolds and Reynolds, or equivalent
- A hands-on leader who is on the floor, not behind a desk
- Ability to recruit, develop, and hold a team accountable with professionalism and consistency
- Strong understanding of warranty administration and Ford's policies and procedures
- Someone who leads by example, communicates clearly, and builds trust with their team
What We Offer
- Competitive performance-based pay plan with no ceiling on earnings
- Advancement opportunities based on performance and merit
- Exceptional support from Fixed Operations Director and Dealer Principal — you will not be left on an island
- A department that is actively being upgraded — new digital tools, new processes, and real investment in the right infrastructure
- Autonomy to build and run your department the right way
- Solid benefits package including health insurance
- A stable, privately owned dealership environment where leadership is recognized and rewarded
