Job Summary
Luther Burbank School District is seeking a collaborative, knowledgeable, and student-centered educator to serve as a Literacy / EL Interventionist (TOSA). This position provides leadership and direct support in literacy intervention and English Learner services to improve outcomes for struggling readers and multilingual learners. Under the direction of the Superintendent or designee, the TOSA (Literacy/EL Interventionist) is responsible for diagnosing student reading strengths and deficits, planning and providing intensive reading supports using explicit, systematic, and multisensory interventions, and monitoring interventions for effectiveness. In collaboration with the Learning Director, the TOSA implements the English Learner Roadmap and monitors the school’s English Learner Master Plan. The ideal candidate demonstrates expertise in evidence-based literacy instruction, intervention systems, English Learner supports, progress monitoring, and collaborative instructional leadership.
