Responsibilities
- Operate lawn mowers, trimmers, hedge cutters, and other power tools to maintain lawns and landscaped areas efficiently.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including pruning, edging, and mulching to enhance aesthetic appeal.
- Conduct lawn care routines such as fertilizing, aerating, and weed control to promote healthy growth.
- Assist with snow plowing during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe for visitors.
- Support tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and removal using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas by inspecting equipment regularly and performing routine maintenance.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment and power tools for safe operation and troubleshooting.
- Experience in landscape maintenance with a keen eye for detail in mowing, edging, planting, and hardscape installation.
- Ability to identify plants accurately and understand horticultural best practices for plant health.
- Knowledge of pesticide management to apply treatments safely following regulatory guidelines.
- Construction experience related to landscape projects such as installing patios or walkways (hardscape).
- Skilled in the use of hand tools like shovels, pruners, rakes; operating excavators when necessary for larger projects.
- Ability to perform lawn care tasks such as mowing, fertilizing, aerating, and weed control effectively.
- Knowledge of snow plowing techniques to maintain safe outdoor environments during winter months.
