Teacher. Special Education (Middle School)

Lunenburg Middle/High School 1079 Mass Ave. Lunenburg, MA 01462 GENERAL The successful candidate will have the knowledge/skills/ability to work collaboratively with school personnel in providing, implementing, designing and/or adapting instructional programs in ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, and/or Life Skills to meet the needs of identified students in a small group setting who primarily have social/emotional/behavioral needs. A primary focus of this position will be the establishment of a positive learning environment that promotes a high level of achievement for students while considering the background and developmental level of the individual student, and helping to transition them from a smaller group environment back into the mainstreamed school setting. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Appropriate Massachusetts Educator License required Attendance at the New Teacher Orientation/Induction is required Three years of teaching experience, preferred. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with administration and team members. Strong communications skills; verbal and non-verbal. OTHER Salary and benefits per Lunenburg Education Association contract. Hiring is subject to satisfactory CORI and SAFIS Background Checks per 603 CMR 51.
