What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator's Assistant position at Lundahl Custom Welding?
Assistant estimator to work closely with many other professionals including the estimating team, consultants, contractors, accountants and operations personnel to provide the most accurate and comprehensive financial and budget analysis for their employers. Their duties often include:
- Working directly with the estimating team to assure the following requirements are completed prior to bidding.
- Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project.
- Understanding working knowledge of Bluebeam take-off program.
- Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets.
- Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product
- Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service
- Creating labor estimates for any project
- Understanding existing estimating spreadsheets to ensure concise estimating.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors
- Managing bids from vendors, suppliers and contractors
- Using bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis
- Presenting prepared estimates to estimating team prior to bidding.
- Compiling and recording actual costs
- Follow-up with General Contractors to analyze our post bid estimate.
- As initial contact with the client for Lundahl Custom Welding, you will be involved in marketing and customer relations.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
