Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Drives a college-owned bus, providing safe and efficient transportation to the college
- community and its visitors.
- Performs routine vehicle inspection and maintenance including checking the oil, fuel, brakes,
- lights, windshield wipers, and water and tire pressures.
- Provides information and other general assistance to the college community and its visitors.
- Maintains DOT approved logbook hours of work performed; makes timely reports of
- accidents, incidents, and unusual occurrences.
- Must comply with Department of Transportation regulations and departmental policies and
- procedures.
- Reliable and committed to driving scheduled game dates.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking
- oil and water levels
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures
- Ability to safely and efficiently operate a loaded passenger bus
- Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and meet deadlines;
- Ability to work as a team or independently.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push pull or otherwise move
- objects and lifting greater than fifty (50) pounds occasionally and sitting most of the time.
- Driving long hours, standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, and kneeling
- frequently.
- Some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety
- precautions.
- Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme
- temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- A valid New Mexico CDL Class A and B Passenger Endorsement License is
- required.
- Two (2) years of practicing experience is required.
