Operations Manager

The Production Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the manufacturing floor, ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This position oversees the Router, Fabrication, Warehouse/Inventory, and Assembly functions while coordinating closely with Customer Service, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Engineering to maintain production flow and meet customer delivery commitments.

As the primary bridge between office operations and manufacturing, the Production Manager ensures effective communication across departments, drives accountability, promotes continuous improvement, and fosters a safe, quality-focused work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the daily operations of the Router, Fabrication, Warehouse/Inventory, and Assembly departments.
• Provide direct supervision and leadership to Router Operator(s), Fabrication employees, Warehouse/Inventory employees, and the Assembly Supervisor.
• Promote and maintain a safe workplace by enforcing company safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct weekly safety meetings and ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards.
• Coordinate production activities to ensure manufacturing schedules and customer delivery deadlines are achieved.
• Work closely with Customer Service to establish and communicate estimated shipping dates for customer orders.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Warehouse/Inventory to ensure materials and inventory levels are sufficient to meet production schedules and estimated ship dates.
• Partner with the Manufacturing Engineer and Engineering team to resolve production issues, improve manufacturing processes, and achieve operational goals.
• Maintain and update the production order database to accurately reflect the status of each project throughout the manufacturing process.
• Ensure CNC router documentation, programs, work instructions, and related production documentation are accurate, complete, and available prior to production.
• Monitor workflow across multiple departments, balancing labor and resources to maximize efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
• Guide the work of cross-functional teams to resolve production challenges and improve communication between departments.
• Serve as the primary communication link between office personnel and the Materials, Router, Fabrication, and Assembly teams.
• Monitor departmental performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure products are manufactured in accordance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Support employee development through coaching, performance management, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of manufacturing experience, with supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multiple departments in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production scheduling, inventory management, fabrication processes, and CNC manufacturing operations.
• Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across production, engineering, purchasing, and customer service.
• Proficiency with manufacturing software, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Compensation & Work Schedule

• Salary Range: $85,000–$110,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and leadership expertise.
• Work Schedule: This is a full-time, on-site position requiring attendance at the manufacturing facility five (5) days per week. Regular presence on the production floor is essential to support employees, monitor operations, and ensure production objectives are met.
