Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
- Perform X-rays and other medical imaging as required, adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Manage patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, utilizing EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Take vital signs and assist with medical documentation as needed.
- Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to young patients and their families.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the dental clinic, following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
Experience
- Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred, particularly in general dentistry settings.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and various dental procedures.
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix.
