Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
• Take dental X-rays and ensure proper handling of radiographic equipment.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
• Monitor and record vital signs as needed during patient visits.
• Provide support in various dental specialties such as Endodontics and Pediatric Dentistry.
• Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties when necessary, including acting as a dental receptionist.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience.

Skills

• Proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
• Familiarity with dental systems and software, including Epic for managing medical records.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain an orderly clinic environment.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is a plus, enhancing our ability to cater to younger patients.
