Position Overview:
An innovative energy company is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to shape and lead its engineering organization during a critical stage of growth. This executive will define the engineering vision, build scalable teams and processes, and oversee the successful development and commercialization of advanced renewable energy technologies.
The Vice President of Engineering will play a key role in driving technical strategy, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration while establishing the foundation for long-term innovation and business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for the company's engineering function, including organizational planning, technical direction, and execution.
- Build and mentor a multidisciplinary team across mechanical, electrical, systems, manufacturing, controls, and materials engineering.
- Lead the delivery of complex hardware products from early-stage development through validation, manufacturing, and commercial launch.
- Develop scalable engineering processes, technical standards, design review procedures, and product lifecycle management practices.
- Partner with executive leadership to align engineering priorities with company objectives and technology roadmaps.
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management to ensure efficient product development and successful production readiness.
- Foster a culture centered on innovation, accountability, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 10 years of progressive engineering leadership experience within advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, industrial technology, aerospace, or other highly engineered industries.
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary engineering organizations through periods of rapid growth.
- Proven experience bringing complex hardware products from concept through commercialization.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering, engineering operations, technical governance, and product development best practices.
Preferred Experience
- Background in renewable energy, power generation, energy storage, electrification, advanced thermal systems, or sustainable infrastructure.
- Experience implementing engineering management systems, configuration control, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
- Familiarity with regulated industries, product qualification, and manufacturing scale-up.
