Electrical Manufacturing Engineer – Industrial Systems – Fremont, CA
A leading advanced technology manufacturer is seeking an Electrical Manufacturing Engineer to support production, product development, and continuous improvement initiatives at its Fremont, CA facility. This is a hands-on role for an engineer experienced in electrical systems within complex capital equipment environments.
This individual will drive product reliability, resolve manufacturing challenges, and support both sustaining and new product introduction efforts while partnering cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and document electrical systems, including wiring, cable assemblies, wire harnesses, control panels, and routing.
• Develop specifications, test plans, and validation processes.
• Create and maintain schematics and system interconnect diagrams.
• Support suppliers, prototyping, and outsourced electrical assemblies.
• Lead obsolescence and end-of-life component management.
• Perform system integration, hands-on wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
• Drive new product introduction and continuous improvement for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Release full design documentation (BOMs, drawings, procedures).
• Support MRB activities, non-conformance disposition, and ECO/change control processes.
• Manage projects from concept through production.
Required / Preferred Experience
• 5 years of electrical systems design and development experience.
• ECAD experience (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical).
• Background in capital equipment within semiconductor, solar, or similar industries.
• Hands-on experience with wiring, cabling, prototyping, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with control panel layout and cable routing using CAD tools.
• Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems (e.g., Agile, Arena, SolidWorks PDM).
• Knowledge of PLCs, motion control, machine safety, and power distribution.
• Experience with IEC standards (e.g., IEC 81346-1).
• FMEA, EtherCAT/IO-Link, and ISO9000/AS9100 experience are pluses.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills and system-level thinking.
• Self-driven, hands-on, and effective in cross-functional environments.
• Strong communication skills.
