My client, an industry leading General Contractor is seeking an experienced Director of Estimating & Preconstruction to lead the estimating and preconstruction department. This is a leadership opportunity to oversee all estimating operations, mentor a growing team, and drive successful project pursuits across a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading preconstruction efforts for projects ranging from $1 million to $100 million, with a strong background in Healthcare, Multifamily Residential, and Senior Housing construction.
Responsibilities
- Lead the estimating and preconstruction department while providing strategic direction and mentorship to the estimating team.
- Oversee all preconstruction activities from conceptual estimating through project turnover.
- Prepare conceptual estimates, detailed budgets, quantity takeoffs, and Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) proposals.
- Review drawings and specifications to identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal operations teams throughout the preconstruction process.
- Develop competitive bid strategies and oversee subcontractor bidding, scope reviews, and procurement planning.
- Present budgets, estimates, and pricing strategies to executive leadership and clients.
- Foster long-term relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners.
Qualifications
- Estimating and preconstruction experience with a commercial General Contractor.
- Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring estimating or preconstruction teams.
- Experience delivering commercial construction projects ranging from $1M to $100M.
- Strong background in Healthcare, Multifamily Residential, and/or Senior Housing construction.

Salary : $150,000 - $250,000
