Amtrak is seeking a highly skilled FinOps Analyst to support cloud financial operations and governance across a multi-cloud environment, primarily AWS and Microsoft Azure, with some exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role will partner with Cloud Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Finance, and Application Development teams to optimize cloud spending, improve financial visibility, strengthen governance, and maximize the value of cloud investments.
The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud cost management, FinOps practices, cloud billing analysis, financial reporting, and cloud governance within a large enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute FinOps strategies to optimize cloud spending across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Monitor and analyze cloud usage patterns to identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Investigate cloud cost anomalies and work with Cloud Engineering and Application teams to resolve financial risks.
- Support cloud governance initiatives by helping design, implement, and maintain governance standards and best practices.
- Manage cloud financial reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, showback, and chargeback processes.
- Analyze cloud billing data and provide actionable recommendations to improve cloud resource utilization.
- Partner with Finance, Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Solutions, and Development teams to drive financial accountability across cloud platforms.
- Create dashboards and reports to communicate cloud spending trends and optimization opportunities to stakeholders.
- Recommend cost-saving initiatives while ensuring operational efficiency and governance compliance.
- Stay current with FinOps methodologies, cloud pricing models, and emerging cloud technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience supporting cloud financial operations, cloud governance, or FinOps initiatives.
- Strong understanding of AWS and Azure cloud services, resource utilization, and pricing models.
- Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is preferred.
- Experience with cloud cost optimization, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of cloud billing analysis and cost allocation methodologies.
- Experience implementing or supporting cloud governance practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner certification (preferred but not required).
- Experience with cloud financial management tools such as:
- Apptio
- Cloudability
- Azure Cost Management
- AWS Cost Explorer
- Experience working in large enterprise or multi-cloud environments.
- Knowledge of the FinOps Framework and cloud financial management best practices.
