Position Information
Job Title: Packaging Quality Technician
Department: Quality / Processing

Reports To: Concentrate Supervisor

Position Summary
The Packaging Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting cannabis packaging materials and finished goods to ensure product quality, operational consistency, and compliance with company standards and Michigan cannabis regulations. This position supports quality assurance initiatives through inspection, testing, documentation, and collaboration with production teams.

Essential Functions
Conduct inspections of finished goods, packaging materials, labels, containers, and closures to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Perform testing procedures including seal integrity, product counts, durability checks, and packaging verification.
Maintain detailed quality records, inspection logs, and documentation.
Identify, document, and communicate non-conformance issues and quality concerns.
Collaborate with production teams to address quality-related findings and corrective actions.
Assist with audit preparation and regulatory documentation.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to packaging quality and operational efficiency.
Follow all company SOPs, safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Michigan cannabis regulations.
Non-Essential / Additional Duties
Assist with employee training related to quality standards.
Participate in cross-functional improvement initiatives.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Additional education or certifications related to quality assurance or manufacturing preferred.
Prior quality assurance, manufacturing, cannabis, pharmaceutical, or related experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain accurate documentation.
Knowledge of GMP and quality control principles preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively across departments.
Ability to operate quality testing tools and equipment.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Position requires prolonged standing, walking, repetitive hand movements, bending, and stooping.
Position may require lifting materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance.
Work is performed in a secure cannabis processing environment.
Employees may be required to wear PPE including gloves, masks, goggles, and other safety equipment.
Employees must comply with all company safety procedures and Michigan cannabis regulations.
Additional Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must successfully complete all required background checks and screenings permitted by law.
Must remain eligible to work in a licensed cannabis facility in the State of Michigan.
