Position Title: Instructional Coordinator
Reports To: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction
Contract Length: 202 Days
Compensation: To be determined
Primary Purpose:
Provide leadership, coordination, and job-embedded instructional coaching to support the development and implementation of a rigorous and aligned instructional program. The Instructional Coordinator works directly with core content teachers to strengthen instructional practices, promote student achievement, and ensure fidelity to district curriculum expectations.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (required)
- Master’s degree (preferred)
- Valid Texas teaching certificate (required)
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years successful classroom teaching experience
- Demonstrated instructional leadership experience
- Experience in curriculum development and coaching preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Deep understanding of curriculum design, instruction, and assessment aligned to TEKS
- Strong skills in instructional coaching and adult learning
- Ability to analyze and interpret student performance data to guide instruction
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of research-based instructional strategies and digital learning tools
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Coaching & Support
- Serve as the district’s lead instructional coach for Grades 6–12 core academic areas
- Collaborate directly with teachers through modeling, co-planning, observation, and feedback
- Guide lesson internalization and implementation of high-impact instructional strategies
- Support teachers in analyzing data and adjusting instruction to meet student needs
- Assist with development and implementation of classroom interventions and enrichment
Curriculum Alignment & Implementation
- Facilitate the review, development, and refinement of curriculum documents, unit plans, and assessments
- Ensure instructional alignment with TEKS and vertical/horizontal coherence across grade levels
- Promote the use of high-quality instructional materials and digital tools
- Monitor curriculum implementation and provide targeted instructional support
Professional Learning
- Design and lead professional development sessions for teachers
- Facilitate content-area collaboration and professional learning communities
- Support new teachers with curriculum orientation and instructional guidance
- Share up-to-date research, strategies, and innovations to build instructional capacity
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with campus administrators to support instructional improvement efforts
- Maintain regular communication with the Assistant Superintendent regarding priorities and progress
- Support consistent messaging around instructional goals and expectations
Additional Duties
- Comply with district, state, and federal policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate ethical, professional conduct
- Travel between campuses as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned

Note: This is a non-supervisory position that plays a key leadership role in supporting instructional quality and student achievement districtwide.
Salary : $48,480 - $76,760
