Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments of lumber and building materials.
- Assist customers in loading and unloading materials, always providing exceptional service.
- Organize and maintain inventory in the yard and warehouse, ensuring materials are easily
- Operate forklifts and other equipment to move and store materials safely.
- Cut lumber and other materials to specific lengths using saws or other tools as needed.
- Keep the yard and warehouse clean and organized, including sweeping, disposing of
- Assist with assembling and preparing orders for delivery to customers and construction
- Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and excellent
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, construction, or lumber yard environment preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks in
- Basic math skills and ability to accurately measure and cut materials.
- Experience operating forklifts or willingness to obtain forklift certification.
- Strong communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Forklift certification or experience operating other heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of lumber and building materials.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Experience with basic carpentry or construction tasks.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
