Janitor
Locations: Santa Fe, NM 87505 (Primary Site)
As needed: Cochiti, NM 87072 / San Felipe Pueblo, NM 87001 /Espanola, NM 87532
Pay Rate: $20 per hour
Schedule:
Primary Site (Santa Fe): Sunday Saturday. 6:30 AM 9:00 PM (varied shifts) Includes weekends & federal holidays.
Satellite Clinics: Monday Friday. 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Occasional weekends (no federal holidays)
Overtime and on-call shifts may be required
Rotating assignments across clinic locations
Contract Length: 1 year with the option to extend
Benefits:
$5.09 per hour Health & Welfare
PTO: 10 days per year
56 hours of sick leave accrued annually

Job Description:
We are hiring a Janitor / Environmental Services (EVS) Technician to support multiple Indian Health Service (IHS) facilities in the Santa Fe area. This role is essential in maintaining clean, safe, and sanitary healthcare environments for patients and staff.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Previous janitorial or EVS experience (healthcare preferred)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
Valid driver's license (may operate government vehicles)
Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and safety procedures
Preferred:
EVS or Janitorial certification
Experience in hospital or clinical settings
Responsibilities:
Perform daily cleaning and sanitation in patient care areas
Handle and dispose of biohazard and infectious waste safely
Clean exam rooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas
Use and mix cleaning chemicals safely (per guidelines)
Operate equipment such as floor machines, vacuums, and scrubbers
Restock supplies (linens, soap, paper products, etc.)
Respond to emergency cleaning situations (spills, contamination)
Follow infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA standards
