Sample Coordinator, Buying

The Apparel Development team is looking for a driven, passionate, and dedicated individual to join the team as our Sample Coordinator in Lulus’ LA Office. As the Sample Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing, tracking, and organizing all apparel development samples and swatches in the LA office and any miscellaneous tasks that arise. Additionally, you will be the point person for any necessary vendor communication regarding the status of a sample. 

Key measures of success will be your ability to adapt, take initiative, and be resourceful, your ability to act as a culture carrier and represent Lulus in a positive and professional light, and your ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve sometimes complex and unexpected issues. 

This role follows a fully in-office schedule, Monday through Friday, based out of our LA office.

What You’ll Do 

• Assist Developers & Buyers in managing, tracking, and organizing all samples & swatches that come into the LA office; bring samples & swatches down from the 4th floor and organize by Developer/Buyer/category for daily review 

• Responsible for dropping all samples & swatches from the 3rd floor and organizing for vendor pick-up on 4th floor 

• Manage the receipt of all samples & swatches and maintain knowledge of status and location of samples at any given time 

• Sort, distribute, and organize incoming samples by development stage (Proto, Fit, PP, TOP, Sheerness Check, etc.) and team ownership to ensure timely review 

• Maintain incoming & outgoing deliveries for Buying & Development teams from external vendors; Responsible for shipping samples back to vendors outside of Downtown LA as needed 

• Manage incoming and outgoing deliveries for the Buying, Development, Production, and Technical Design teams, including shipping samples back to vendors as needed 

• Serve as the main contact for all vendor sample inquiries; Help maintain updated vendor directory 

• Manage communication & organization of the monthly Vendor Open House 

• Maintain a thorough understanding of the Development & Buying team’s operations and help identify opportunities to increase efficiency in the day-to-day tasks 

• Act in a manner that is consistent with Lulus’ values, policies, procedures, and brand standards 

• Help maintain LA office space, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment 

• Other duties as assigned 

What You’ll Need 

• 1 year of relevant, professional work experience in an office environment 

• Professional, positive attitude 

• Strong attention to detail 

• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills 

• Team player who is also self-driven and works well independently with strong time management skills  

• Excellent communication skills and able to work with and take direction from multiple Developers at once; Comfortable communicating with all levels of management 

• Proactive and quick learner with strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and to anticipate and address last-minute changes 

• Strong computer skills, proficiency with Google applications, and an ability to become familiar with other programs and software 

• Ability to physically move hundreds of samples a week 

Nice to Have - Bonus Points! 

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience in Product Development, Fashion, or Design

Base salary is a part of a total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include an annual bonus and other benefit programs.
