Staff Accountant
Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for daily, monthly and annual accounting functions as well as supervise Accounting Clerk’s. The Staff Accountant is responsible for all duties of the Accounting Clerk position and reports to the Accounting Manager.
Staff Accountant duties include, but not limited to:
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, subsidiary accounts and bank accounts • Daily bank transactions - review, reconcile and post to the general ledger • Accounts Receivable process management – customer billing, new customer setups, customer correspondence, posting electronic and paper payments, selecting and preparing ACH draft notifications and reconciling the subsidiary ledger • Complete chargeback requests within company standards timeframe, import, monitor and reconcile credit card activity and correspond with credit card processors • Monitor daily inventory transactions and reconcile to subsidiary ledger monthly • Accounts Payable process management – review, enter and post vendor invoices, clear electronic payments, investigate invoice discrepancies, vendor correspondence and reconciling the subsidiary ledger • Identify, record, and reconcile prepaid and accrual accounts • Communicate effectively with Luke team members outside the accounting division • Perform all Accounting Clerk duties and supervise their daily and monthly activities • Assist Accounting Manager with other responsibilities as needed
Experience/Required Skills
Experience/Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting • 2 years applicable accounting experience • Ability to communicate in a professional manner • Must be self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to function effectively as a team member yet work independently. Ability to establish and meet deadlines and to quickly develop clear priorities • Reliable and punctual, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment • Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented to produce timely and accurate results • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel (vlookups, pivot tables)
Preferred Skills: • 3-5 years of accounting experience in the fuel or retail industry • Experience using PDI accounting software
Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
