Lucky Penny Pottery Assistant Studio Manager $18-26/hour

Lucky Penny Pottery is looking for someone who is friendly, outgoing, reliable, committed, and confident to assist the manager in running the studio!
We are looking for someone who will have the personality, patience, and enthusiasm to thrive in this role. We need someone detail oriented, diligent, organized, tech savvy, and able to take on many tasks at once. A positive attitude and the drive for success are key.
This is not a seasonal role, full time students will not be considered.
Immediate Responsibilities:
- Greeting, assisting, and serving customers
- Providing accurate information to visitors on products, techniques, pricing, etc.
- Providing clear and easy to follow instructions for visitors of varying experience levels and ages
- Answering phones, taking reservations for parties and events
- Using Square POS on iPad to check out guests and handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and completely
- Restocking shelves and tracking inventory
- Light cleaning of the studio (mop, sweep, organize, take out the trash, resetting tables)
- Leading birthday parties and other events
- Ability to multitask and be proactive, is a self starter, can work without supervision
- Opening/closing the store, responsible key holder
- Having patience with both kids and adults
Future Responsibilities may include schedule management, event creation and advertising, social media management, and communications with the business owner. These will be determined as the role progresses.
Physical Demands:
- Lifting of boxes and/or supplies between 5-25 pounds
- Crouching, stooping or kneeling to stock or retrieve pottery or clean
- Fine motor skills for pouring paint and handling pottery pieces
- Alternating between sedentary and active tasks frequently throughout the day
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years or older (non-negotiable)
- Must be friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing
- Must be prompt, reliable, and trustworthy
- Must be available weekends and some weekday evenings
- Must be located in Stamford or immediate surrounding area
- Must have a car or other reliable transportation.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative on what needs to get done
- Be comfortable speaking to groups
- Likes working with kids and adults
- Art interest, ability, or experience would be helpful, but is not required
Education:
- High School Diploma/Bachelor's Degree
Experience:
- Customer Service - 2 years
- Experience with children preferred
- Management experience preferred
- Art experience a plus
Job posting is for immediate hire. Shifts can range from 4-8 hours per day or 3 hours for a party during weekdays or weekends. The job will start at around 20 hours a week and will increase as training is completed. This is not a Mon-Fri 9-5 job. Shifts will be scheduled between 12-7pm Sun-Fri, with some late nights and weekend afternoons.
You will become tip eligible after training is complete, adding roughly $2-4 to your hourly wage!
