Job Summary
We are seeking a certified force free dog trainer to join our team at a busy dog daycare, boarding, grooming and training facility. Let your passion for animals and expertise in training make a lasting impact on dogs and their owners! In this energetic role, you will develop and implement positive reinforcement training programs that promote good behavior, strengthen the bond between pets and their families, and enhance overall pet well-being. Training is mostly one on one, with & without the pet owner and sometimes in small groups. Organization and excellent communication skills are a must . Communicating with clients includes in person, telephone, video and email. We are looking for a trainer with enthusiasm and dedication who will help create confident, well-behaved dogs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of breeds and temperaments in a lively, pet-centered environment. It may also include working in the daycare if desired.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, positive reinforcement training sessions tailored to each dog’s needs and temperament
- Educate pet owners on effective training techniques, behavior support strategies, and pet care best practices
- Handle dogs safely during training exercises, utilizing animal restraint and handling skills to ensure safety for both pets and staff
- Maintain a clean, organized training area while adhering to kennel protocols and animal care standards
- Foster a positive learning environment through classroom-based training that emphasizes animal welfare and humane treatment
Requirements
- Proven experience in dog training or animal handling, with a strong understanding of positive behavior support strategies
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and provide clear guidance
- Strong commitment to animal care and the ethical treatment of pets.

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
