Essential Functions
20% of Job: Team Leadership
- Lead the Riprap team, ensuring efficient operations, adherence to safety protocols, and coordination with other teams.
- Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
- Work closely with the Pit Services Manager, blasting crew, and drilling foreman to plan and execute rock breaking operations.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and serve as the point-of-contact for all breakage needs.
- Schedule and balance work between sites.
- Fill in as an equipment operator when needed.
- Execute company riprap strategy including tracking and managing inventory levels
- Set performance standards, accurately maintain records and logs, and create reports related to rock breaking operations.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance productivity and safety, including new technology and equipment selection.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
- Ensure the efficient use and maintenance of equipment.
- Responsible for meeting budget (revenue and costs).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of mining experience (aggregates preferred) with Pit Leadership preferred.
- Knowledge of mobile equipment and experience with operating and maintaining equipment
- Previous management experience preferred
- Virginia Energy Foreman Certification or ability to acquire
