The Quality Supervisor is responsible for supporting and coordinating daily quality operations to ensure products, processes, and materials consistently meet company quality standards and customer expectations. This position provides frontline leadership for quality personnel, drives accountability, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and promotes a culture focused on quality, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction throughout manufacturing operations. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Lead and support daily quality operations, including incoming inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, non-conformance management, and quality verification activities to ensure product quality standards are achieved.  

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, coaching, and performance feedback to quality team members to maintain accountability, consistency, engagement, and performance.  

  • Monitor quality workflows throughout the shift, proactively identifying and resolving quality concerns to minimize production disruptions and ensure timely issue resolution.  

  • Coordinate inspection priorities and labor allocation within the quality department based on production schedules, customer demands, and operational priorities.  

  • Ensure timely inspection, validation, and disposition of incoming materials, work-in-process components, and finished goods to support production and shipment requirements.  

  • Partner cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Warehouse, Planning, and Purchasing teams to improve product quality, manufacturing processes, communication, and operational performance.  

  • Support employee development through training, coaching, and performance management while reinforcing quality standards, company expectations, and continuous improvement principles.  

  • Maintain accurate quality documentation, inspection records, non-conformance reports, corrective actions, and departmental metrics to support reporting, accountability, and compliance requirements.  

  • Assist with root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve overall product quality.  

  • Support and promote Lean Manufacturing, quality system compliance, workplace organization, and operational excellence initiatives throughout manufacturing operations.  

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, quality procedures, and behavioral expectations.  

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.  

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of quality, manufacturing, or production experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.  

  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively lead teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  

  • Proven ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing production and quality demands.  

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, decision-making, and organizational skills.  

  • Working knowledge of quality inspection processes, manufacturing quality systems, defect identification, root cause analysis, and corrective action procedures.  

  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, product specifications, work instructions, and quality standards preferred.  

  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems, quality management systems, and production reporting tools.  

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry/reporting systems.  

  • Ability to analyze quality data and utilize metrics to drive process and performance improvements.  

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and organizational levels.  

 

Education and Experience Requirements 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.  

  • Associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred.  

  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience preferred.  

  • Quality certification (ASQ or equivalent) preferred.  

 

Working Environment 

  • Smoke-free workplace.  

  • Regular work within a manufacturing and production environment.  

  • Ability to stand, walk, inspect products, and move throughout production areas as required throughout the workday.  

  • Must comply with all company safety requirements and PPE standards.  

  • Follow all employee handbook and workplace policies
