Job Summary
The Quality Control Supervisor ensures Mesa’s products meet quality, reliability, and compliance standards by directly supervising quality control activities, inspections, and testing across assembly and load bank operations. This hands-on leadership role guides a team of Quality Technicians, monitors adherence to documented procedures, and supports continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven recommendations. The Supervisor collaborates closely with Production and Engineering teams to maintain product quality, resolve issues, and promote a culture of accountability and compliance.
Essential Duties
- Supervise and guide Assembly Quality Technicians and Load Bank Technicians in daily inspection, testing, and quality control activities.
- Ensure adherence to Mesa’s quality standards, procedures, testing policies, and specifications, including ISO 9001 and customer requirements.
- Monitor inspections and testing processes, including incoming material checks, in-process inspections, final evaluations, and load bank testing.
- Identify deviations or nonconformities, assist with root cause analysis, and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in collaboration with Engineering.
- Collect, track, and report quality performance metrics to leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to develop team technical skills, accountability, and operational proficiency.
- Coordinate daily work assignments and resource allocation to meet inspection and production targets efficiently.
- Support procedural updates by providing recommendations, ensuring proper validation and implementation under Engineering guidance.
- Participate in internal, customer, and third-party audits by providing documentation and demonstrating compliance.
- Promote a culture of safety, compliance, quality, and continuous improvement through active team engagement and problem-solving.
Education
Required
- High School of GED
Preferred
- 2 Year / Associate Degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field.
Experience
Required
- 3 years of quality experience in a manufacturing or technical environment.
- 2 years of leadership experience required; formal management experience preferred but strong lead/foreman level experience may be considered.
Preferred
- 2 years of formal management experience and /or strong lead/foreman level experience may be considered.
- Honorably discharged service veterans are preferred.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations
Preferred
- ASQ certification Preferred certifications: ASQ CQT, CQI, CQE, CQA, or CMQ/OE, demonstrating advanced knowledge of quality systems, auditing, and continuous improvement.

- Strong understanding of quality control principles, inspection methods, and testing standards.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Knowledge of assembly processes, load bank testing, and product quality requirements.

- Knowledge of documentation practices, work instructions, and quality reporting systems.

- Ability to mentor, develop, and motivate a high-performing quality control team.
- Ability to identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance quality and reliability.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, and other departments to resolve quality issues.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation, track metrics, and report performance trends.
- Must be able to fluently speak, write, and read in English.
