A leading Indianapolis based client of ours is looking to bring on an IT Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of technology initiatives across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career project manager who has experience working with IT teams and wants to continue developing their project management skills in an enterprise environment. The IT Project Manager will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and senior project leadership to coordinate project activities, track milestones and deliverables, manage documentation, and help ensure projects remain on schedule.
*This role is Contract, and hybrid onsite in Indianapolis. No third parties.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning and execution of IT projects from initiation through implementation and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, action items, and status documentation.
- Coordinate activities across technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and other project participants.
- Facilitate project meetings and document decisions, action items, owners, and next steps.
- Track project risks, issues, dependencies, and changes and escalate concerns when appropriate.
- Monitor project progress and provide clear, timely status updates to project leadership and stakeholders.
- Assist with resource coordination, project documentation, reporting, and governance activities.
- Help translate business needs and project objectives into actionable tasks for technical teams.
- Follow up with project participants to ensure commitments and deadlines are met.
- Support testing, implementation, deployment, and change-management activities as needed.
- Maintain organized project documentation and ensure key decisions and deliverables are appropriately captured.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes, templates, and best practices.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience supporting or managing projects, preferably within an IT or technology environment.
- Understanding of basic project management principles, methodologies, and project lifecycles.
- Experience coordinating multiple tasks, priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable facilitating meetings, tracking action items, and following up with project participants.
- Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Monday.com, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
