Job Summary
The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining food production schedules that align customer demand, inventory targets, capacity constraints, and material availability. This role works closely with manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, customer service, and operations teams to ensure on-time delivery and efficient production execution.

- Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly food production schedules.
- Balance customer demand with manufacturing capacity and material availability.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve production scheduling processes to increase efficiency, schedule stability, and on-time delivery.
- Identify bottlenecks and develop standardized scheduling practices that optimize capacity utilization, reduce downtime, and improve workflow across manufacturing operations.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address delays, equipment downtime, labor constraints, or supply shortages.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure raw materials are available for scheduled production.
- Collaborate with production supervisors and planners to optimize workflow and resource utilization.
- Analyze production performance, schedule adherence, and capacity utilization.
- Communicate schedule changes and priorities to operations and cross-functional teams.
- Support inventory management by maintaining appropriate stock levels and minimizing excess inventory.
- Generate reports and metrics related to production schedules, on-time delivery, and manufacturing performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning and scheduling processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations management, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing, or supply chain operations. Food production experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Plex
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.
- Understanding of production capacity planning and inventory management.
- Experience with demand planning and S&OP processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
