Manufacturing Domain SME / Digital Manufacturing Consultant
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Domain Subject-Matter Expert (SME) with hands-on knowledge of plant operations and digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will understand production processes, plant systems, and Industry 4.0 technologies and be able to bridge manufacturing operations and technology teams.
The consultant will partner with plant leadership and production, quality, maintenance, engineering, and IT/OT teams to understand business challenges and define digital requirements. Key activities include leading discovery workshops, developing functional specifications, recommending best-fit solutions, and collaborating with solution architects and engineering teams to deliver scalable Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Engage plant stakeholders to understand manufacturing processes, operational challenges, and business objectives.
- Lead requirement-discovery workshops, process assessments, and digital maturity evaluations.
- Define functional and technical requirements for digital manufacturing initiatives.
- Recommend and design solutions using MES, SCADA, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), connected-worker, quality, maintenance, artificial intelligence, and analytics platforms.
- Define integrations across ERP, MES, SCADA, historian, CMMS, QMS, WMS, and other enterprise and plant systems.
- Collaborate with solution architects, engineering teams, and customers to develop scalable Industry 4.0 solutions.
- Define manufacturing KPIs, dashboards, and business-value metrics.
- 10 years of manufacturing-domain experience, including hands-on exposure to plant operations.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and Industry 4.0.
- Experience with manufacturing systems such as MES, SCADA, ERP, CMMS, QMS, WMS, and Industrial IoT platforms.
- Understanding of IT/OT integration, ISA-95, OPC UA, MQTT, APIs, and industrial communication protocols.
- Excellent stakeholder-management, business-analysis, and requirements-gathering skills.
- Strong communication and consulting capabilities, with the ability to engage customer leadership and cross-functional teams.

Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
