Operations Assistant – Tax
As a Tax Operations Assistant with our Tax team, you will play a key behind-the-scenes role in ensuring tax returns are finalized, assembled, and delivered accurately and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys detail-oriented work, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and wants to support a high-performing tax team through strong operational execution.

Salary Range: $19.00 - $30.00 per hour (Non-Exempt Status)
Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that LSL, LLP provides to compensate and recognize our professionals for their work. All exempt positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and all employees who are regularly scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week are offered a comprehensive benefits package.

Operations Assistant – Tax
As a Tax Operations Assistant with our Tax team, you will play a key behind-the-scenes role in ensuring tax returns are finalized, assembled, and delivered accurately and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys detail-oriented work, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and wants to support a high-performing tax team through strong operational execution.
What you will be doing:
- Tax Return Assembly (for tax department employees).
- Completes scanning requirements for document storage as defined or requested.
- Maintains files of correspondence or other records, electronically or on paper.
- Drafts, proofs, formats, add footnotes, and save as pdfs the financial statements for clients.
- Generates, distributes, and tracks all client materials.
- Maintains control file of all matters in progress for each assigned Partner and Manager.
- Maintains procedures that implement operational and/or fiscal policies.
- Interprets policies and procedures as established by Managers.
- Compiles data based on research techniques and on statistical compilations involving an understanding of operating unit programs, policies, and procedures.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2 years of administrative or operations experience within a CPA or professional services firm highly preferred
- Hands on experience with SafeSend and CCH Axcess preferred
- Experience compiling and distributing tax returns in a public accounting environment strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
- Strong attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and follow-through
- Must be able and willing to work over 40 hours during busy tax season.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Clear written and verbal communication abilities
- Professional demeanor with discretion and confidentiality
- Positive, team-oriented attitude and strong service mindset
- No supervisory responsibilities
