Job Summary

The Band Saw Operator is responsible for safely operating band saw equipment to cut materials to specified dimensions. This role ensures accuracy, quality, and productivity while maintaining a safe and organized work environment during second shift operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate band saw machines to cut metal, plastic, or other materials according to specifications
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measurements
• Measure and mark materials for accurate cutting
• Inspect finished pieces to ensure they meet quality standards
• Perform routine machine maintenance and report any mechanical issues
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Meet production goals and deadlines

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating a band saw or similar machinery preferred
• Ability to read a tape measure and use basic measuring tools
• Basic math and mechanical skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
• Reliable attendance, especially for 2nd shift schedule

Work Environment

• Manufacturing / warehouse setting
• Exposure to loud noise, dust, and moving machinery
• PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required

Preferred Skills

• Experience in metal cutting or fabrication
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
