The Lead Research Analyst uses advanced Russian language skills and subject-matter expertise in Russian political and security affairs to deliver on customer/business requirements.

Holds responsibility for sourcing, collecting, curating, and analyzing content from Russian-language primary and secondary sources, while supporting accurate resolution of client cases and leading quality standards for research outputs.

Responsibilities:

Leverages language & regional expertise to meet business needs—monitoring Russian-language sources and converting findings into actionable intelligence.

Resolves client cases with precision, including data integrity fixes, gap fills, and source reconciliation

Processes data accurately and on time, using approved tools and research methodologies.

Uses approved sources and collection policies to identify, extract, structure, and enrich data and maintain auditable citations.

Adheres to quality metrics and prioritizes effectively to support business and customer requirements, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and completeness of research artifacts.

Drives process improvements to enhance research efficiency and client experience (e.g., taxonomies, templates, enrichment rules, automation opportunities, and research pipelines).

Briefs internal and external stakeholders, presenting findings and implications concisely, with defensible sourcing and clear confidence levels.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required (e.g., International Relations, Russian/Eurasian Studies, Security Studies, Political Science, Economics); advanced degree preferred.

Professional fluency in Russian (C1/C2) with proven experience translating, summarizing, and analyzing Russian-language materials; additional regional languages (e.g., Ukrainian) a plus.

Relevant experience (2 years) in Russia/Eurasia-focused research or analysis within OSINT, risk intelligence, due diligence, journalism, government, or think tanks.

Compensation/Benefits Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $61,600 - $102,600.

Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/”bonus plan”). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match. LSEG’s Benefits plan also includes basic life insurance, disability benefits, emergency backup dependent care, adoption assistance commuter assistance etc.
