The Office of Law Admissions at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law is responsible for meeting enrollment goals established by University leadership by recruiting, admitting, and enrolling students who are the best fit for the institution. The Admissions Specialist serves as the front-line administrative and customer service representative for the Office of Law Admissions and is often the first point of contact for prospective students, applicants, visitors, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.

This position provides operational, administrative, and customer service support to the admissions team and plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient daily functioning of the office. The Admissions Specialist supports admissions processing, event logistics, FWS worker supervision, office operations, and communications while maintaining a professional, welcoming, and service-oriented environment.

The Admissions Specialist reports directly to the associate dean for Law Admissions and works collaboratively with assistant directors, admissions counselors, student workers, and campus partners.


Admissions Operations and Applicant Support
  • Serve as the front desk representative and primary initial point of contact for prospective students, applicants, visitors, and callers.
  • Answer and direct telephone calls and walk-in inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Review applications and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Perform data entry and maintain applicant records within admissions databases and systems.
  • Assist with admissions communications, including preparing, printing, and distributing correspondence.
  • Coordinate the assembly and mailing of admission packets and other recruitment materials.
  • Ensure confidential applicant information is handled appropriately and in accordance with University policies.

Office Administration and Management
  • Manage daily office operations to ensure efficient workflow and customer service.
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies, recruitment materials, and promotional items.
  • Order office supplies and coordinate purchasing needs.
  • Process requisitions, invoices, and payment requests in accordance with University procedures.
  • Coordinate food orders and logistical arrangements for meetings, recruitment programs, and special events.
  • Assist with scheduling and administrative support functions as assigned.

FWS Student Worker Supervision
  • Coordinate, train, assign, and monitor the work of work-study students.
  • Ensure student workers understand office procedures, customer service expectations, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Assist with scheduling and workload distribution to support office operations.

Event Support
  • Assist with planning and logistical coordination for recruitment and yield events.
  • Attend selected admissions programs, open houses, and special events as needed.
  • Support event preparation, setup, check-in, and follow-up activities.

Customer Service and Communication
  • Project and maintain a positive, professional image of Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to prospective students, applicants, alumni, faculty, staff, and other constituents.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of College of Law academic programs, admissions procedures, and University resources to appropriately assist inquiries.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional and business-like manner.
  • Support admissions projects and initiatives as assigned by the Associate Dean for Law Admissions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Minimum Bachelor's degree required.
  • One year of professional experience in an administrative, customer service, admissions, higher education, office management, or related role; student leadership or relevant student employment experience may be considered.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, and database systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while exercising sound judgment and initiative.
  • Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education admissions, enrollment management, or student services.
  • Experience supervising student employees or coordinating support staff.
  • Experience with CRM or student information systems.
  • Familiarity with event planning and office budget processes.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the workday.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry boxes or materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to assist with event setup and recruitment materials distribution.
  • Ability to complete job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
