Shift: Days/Saturday coverage. This is a remote role.

 What you’ll do: 

The Scheduling Specialist is responsible for pre-registration, scheduling, electronically verifying insurance eligibility & accurately identifying & collecting patient financial responsibility. Handles complex scheduled events, including high dollar testing, associated studies & those with study specific instructions & communicate effectively to service delivery areas to maximize patient flow & customer service. Begins the overall patient experience & initiate the billing process for any services provided by the hospital.

EPIC Registration –

• Accurately pre-registers patients for appointments and tests.
• Verifies and updates patient demographic and insurance information.
  
  

Managed Care –

• Understands and identifies insurance types.
• Validates contract status of insurance with Loyola for physicians and facility to ensure maximum reimbursement and correct payment.
• Verifies insurance information for each patient appointment.
• Reviews accuracy and makes appropriate changes as needed.
• Reminds patient of any financial obligations and documents appropriately. Collects Payments
• Reminds patients to obtain necessary referral forms and/or additional documentation and bring to clinic/ancillary department to ensure highest allowable reimbursement.

What you’ll need for this job: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) or Five (5) years’ experience in area of expertise such as scheduling, financial clearance, or patient access
• Cisco Finesse Phone System Handle Experience Strongly Preferred
• Epic Strongly Preferred
• Must be able to Schedule Outpatient Appointments using BookIt in Epic
• Demonstrated Customer Service Experience in a High-Volume Healthcare Call Center
• Strong grammatical writing skills are preferred, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Effectively navigate multiple screens and resources materials
• Strong understanding of Windows Operating System (OS)
• Must be comfortable working independently with little oversight upon successful completion of training
  
  

Compensation: 

Pay Range: $16.49 - $24.44 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
