Loyola University Medical Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our inpatient Gastroenterology team. This role provides advanced clinical care in an acute care setting, managing a diverse population of patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions.
The APP will work both independently and collaboratively with attending physicians, fellows, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

What You’ll Do

This role provides advanced clinical care in an acute care setting, managing a diverse population of patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions.
The APP will work both independently and collaboratively with attending physicians, fellows, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for hospitalized patients with gastrointestinal conditions, including liver disease, GI bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, and other acute GI disorders
- Perform detailed patient assessments, including history, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the GI team
- Manage inpatient consultations and follow-up care, ensuring timely evaluation and intervention
- Order, interpret, and act on laboratory, imaging, and procedural results
- Perform procedures within scope of practice and assist with GI procedures as needed
- Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams, including case management and ancillary services
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support evidence-based practice standards
- Maintain high standards of care aligned with Loyola Medicine’s mission and values
