Loyalty Transport Corp is looking for a dedicated ON-SITE Intermodal Dispatcher to join our growing team. The dispatcher will mainly be focused on scheduling drivers to pick up and deliver loads to our customers. The dispatcher accommodates loads in the most efficient and effective way, ensuring the safety of our drivers and the securement of the cargo. The dispatcher is key to resolve issues involving the weather conditions, driver incidents, and is knowledgeable of local, state, and federal transportation regulations. CANDIDATE MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN A DRAYAGE COMPANY THAT HAS SERVICED THE PORTS OF NEW YORK/NEW JERSEY CONTAINER TERMINALS.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing drivers- monitoring productivity
- Scheduling, planning, routing pick-ups, deliveries and return of containers
- Optimize productivity
- Assign work to drivers, communicating updates and changes
- Update customers on delays, equipment issues and paperwork
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, including Hours of service
- Schedule terminal appointments
- Ensure safety, quality, and timeliness
- Update computer system in a timely manner with appropriate route or delivery status.
- Prioritize calls/ text according to urgency and importance
SKILLS:
- Prior experience in the trucking industry is a must
- Good verbal and written communication in English and Spanish
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of steamship lines
- Well organize and high attention to details
- Self-motivated
- Microsoft office suite, particularly Excel
- 2 years port drayage dispatching
- Excellent communication skills
- Have knowledge of DOT regulations
- Fast learner
This position is full time Monday to Friday
