Key Responsibilities - Central Supply Specialist
- Sterilization: Decontaminate, clean, package, and sterilize medical instruments.
- Inventory Management: Track usage, order supplies, and manage PAR levels for departments.
- Distribution: Deliver medical supplies and equipment to clinical units.
- Compliance: Adhere to safety standards for medical device handling.
- Maintenance: Ensure equipment, such as sterilizers, is functional.
- Recruitment: Source, screen, and interview candidates for open positions.
- Scheduling: Manage shift schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Onboarding: Facilitate hiring paperwork and orientation for new staff.
- Skills: High organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with inventory databases or HR software.
- Experience: Previous experience in central processing, sterile processing, or healthcare inventory control is often preferred.
- Certification: Certification as a Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) may be required or preferred.
