Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our school. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the highest standards of sanitation and appearance. Your approach and attention to detail will contribute to a positive experience for staff, visitors, and clients alike. Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of all areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
• Handle various chemical agents safely while performing sanitation tasks, adhering strictly to chemical handling safety procedures.
• Operate cleaning machinery and equipment efficiently to maintain floors and surfaces, including buffing and polishing for a pristine finish.
• Conduct routine janitorial duties such as trash removal, dusting, window washing, and restocking supplies to ensure a tidy environment.
• Assist with light maintenance tasks including minor repairs, painting, and facilities upkeep to support overall building maintenance.
• Follow safety protocols diligently during heavy lifting or manual handling activities to prevent injuries.
• Support industrial cleaning or commercial cleaning projects as needed, demonstrating versatility across different environments.
• Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, safety inspections, and equipment maintenance logs.

Qualifications

• Proven custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings with a strong understanding of cleaning procedures.
• Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards staff and visitors.
• Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs, painting, and general upkeep.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow safety protocols consistently.
• Prior experience with industrial or commercial cleaning projects is preferred but not required.

Pay: From $16.23 per hour
