What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Officer Assistant position at Lower?
We’re looking for an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant (LOA) to join our growing team at Lower Mortgage. This is NOT an entry-level role. We are looking for someone who already understands the mortgage process, can manage files proactively, communicate effectively with clients and referral partners, and help keep loans moving efficiently from application to closing.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with residential mortgage loan files from application through closing
- Collect and review borrower documentation
- Follow up with borrowers, agents, title companies, insurance agents, and third parties
- Help structure and organize files before submission to processing/underwriting
- Monitor loan milestones and proactively identify potential issues
- Maintain consistent communication with clients and referral partners
- Manage pipeline updates and task follow-up inside CRM/LOS systems
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Mortgage LOA, Processor, or similar mortgage operations role
- Strong understanding of Conventional, FHA, VA, and Non-QM loan products preferred
- Experience reviewing income and asset documentation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously without constant supervision
- Experience with mortgage LOS systems and CRM platforms preferred
