What Success Looks Like

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team by setting clear expectations, strengthening internal accountability, and building scalable workflows that support a growing, multi-division business.
  • Direct and continuously improve the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, reducing close timelines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and compliance.
  • Design, implement, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls that align with GAAP and protect the organization from financial, operational, and compliance risk.
  • Partner closely with executive leadership to build, manage, and refine annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial plans that support strategic priorities and sustainable growth.
  • Deliver clear, actionable financial analysis and variance reporting that explains performance drivers, highlights risks and opportunities, and informs course correction when needed.
  • Oversee cash flow management, including billing, collections, payables, and working capital planning, to ensure liquidity and financial stability across the business.
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition, job costing, and expense allocation, particularly within project-based and operationally complex environments.
  • Proactively identify inefficiencies, control gaps, and system limitations, then lead process improvements and system enhancements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Act as a trusted financial advisor to department leaders, translating complex financial information into practical guidance that supports operational execution and accountability.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as system implementations, organizational growth, and financial due diligence by providing disciplined financial insight and leadership.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned that support the mission and core values of Loving, ensuring alignment with our culture of community, integrity, and impact.

What Sets You Apart

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including proven leadership and people management responsibility.
  • Deep working knowledge of GAAP, with demonstrated expertise in internal controls, financial compliance, and risk management.
  • Proven track record of leading annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes in a growing organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build, analyze, and interpret complex financial models and reporting tools.
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and ERP systems, with the capability to evaluate, optimize, and scale financial systems as the business evolves.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate financial results into actionable insights that drive operational and strategic decisions.
  • Confident, credible leader who balances strategic vision with a willingness to engage in hands-on execution when needed.
  • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
  • Preferred experience in construction, landscaping, or other project-based service industries where job costing and operational complexity are critical.
