Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for crafting authentic sushi using fresh ingredients while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to all food handling and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours
- Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed
Requirements
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Flexibility to adapt to seasonal ingredients and rotating sushi menus, with a creative approach to presentation and flavor
- Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in Japanese cuisine is preferred; experience in omakase, sushi bar, or high-volume settings is a plus
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn. Open to feedback, new techniques, and continuous improvement
