What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper - Mendelson Home position at Lourdes Senior Community?
Lourdes Senior Community has one housekeeping position open. The Housekeeper performs housekeeping and cleaning activities within established guidelines and assigned areas.
Mendelson Home: Full time: Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. No weekends. No holidays. This position mostly cleans apartments in our assisted living facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) as outlined for housekeeping department.
- Clean assigned areas, furnishings, fixtures, etc. according to established housekeeping procedure.
- Clean floors, dry mop, vacuum, etc. Perform emergency housekeeping where accidents occur.
- Clean Resident apartments as directed by supervisor.
- Responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary conditions by observing proper cleaning and disinfecting techniques.
- Follow infection control policy/procedures which include: Universal Precautions, proper handwashing and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Responsible for appropriate and economical use of supplies and equipment.
- Participate in in-service programs, fire and disaster drills; respond to fire alarms by immediately going to the scene of fire.
- Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Previous housekeeping experience a plus.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, resident, family members, visitor, government agencies/personnel and the general public
Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or without the aid of mechanical devices)
- Must be able to move throughout the work day (sit, stand, bend kneel, squat and walk).
- Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability work effectively with the residents, personnel and support agencies.
- Must meet the general health requirement set forth by the policies of the facility which include a medical and physical examinations.
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of resident during emergency situations.
- Must be able to push, pull and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
