What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver - Assisted Living position at Lourdes Senior Community?
Position Summary:
The Caregiver/Resident Assistant performs routine service duties to provide for the care, comfort and safety of residents in a residential setting. Assists residents with personal hygiene and meals, according to specific procedures.
We currently have the following openings:
- Day Shift (7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.) - part time and full time
- Afternoon Shift (3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.) - part time(5% shift premium)
- Midnight shift - (11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.) - part time (10% shift premium)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides for care, comfort, and safety of assigned residents under direction of a licensed nurse.
- Assists residents with showers, dressing, oral hygiene, bed making, meal service, activities, wellness programs, preparation for doctors' appointments, and outings.
- Provides meal service in a main dining area. Offers and distributes snacks, supplements and special requests under the direction of the nurse.
- Responds to resident call system to determine resident's needs and relay information to appropriate nursing/administrative personnel in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as a Caregiver is preferred.
- Ability to interact with residents, families, supervisors, and peers in a supportive, cooperative and courteous manner.
Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or without the aid of mechanical devices):
- Must be able to move throughout the workday (sit, stand, bend, kneel, squat and walk).
- Must be able to cope with the physical and emotional stress of the position.
