Activities Director

Louisville Gardens located in Louisville, Ohio is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Director to oversee and implement engaging programs that enhance the quality of life for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to create and facilitate a diverse range of activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and execute daily, weekly, and monthly activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
• Develop and maintain an activity calendar that includes recreational, educational, and therapeutic programs.
• Lead group and one-on-one activities, ensuring resident engagement and participation.
• Coordinate with external organizations, volunteers, and community groups to enhance program offerings.
• Ensure all activities align with state and federal regulations for long-term care facilities.
• Maintain activity supply inventory and budget effectively.
• Monitor and document resident participation and feedback to continuously improve programming.
• Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure holistic resident care.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Recreational Therapy, Gerontology, or a related field is preferred.
• Certification as an Activities Director (e.g., NCCAP) or willingness to obtain certification.
• Previous experience in an activities or recreation role, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting.
• CNA certification preferred. Required to obtain within the first year of employment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with activity planning software is a plus.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and be physically active as needed for activities.
