This Administrative Coordinator 4 position requires the incumbent to perform complex and often specialized duties with a high level of independence. The role demands the consistent exercise of sound judgment and initiative in determining appropriate actions, particularly in non-routine situations. The incumbent must develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the policies, procedures, mission, and core values of the Office of Workforce Development (OWD), including comprehensive knowledge of all programs administered by OWD and how they interrelate.
The Office of Workforce Development (OWD) is a key division of Louisiana Works managing programs in workforce training, job placement, apprenticeships, and business engagement. Through collaboration with local boards, educational institutions, and industry partners, OWD aims to improve economic mobility for job seekers and ensure Louisiana employers have the skilled talent they need, contributing to the state’s economic growth.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in administrative services.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Serves as assistant to the Labor Research and Statistics Director, including managing calendars, coordinating appointments, arranging travel, issuing directives on the Director’s behalf, and handling routine administrative matters to support daily operations.
- Processes routine documentation and enters data into spreadsheets, logs, and databases in accordance with program requirements.
- Prepares requisitions for the purchase of supplies, including entry into automated procurement systems.
- Compiles information from various sources and prepares specialized reports, ensuring all documents adhere to Research and Statistics formatting and reporting standards.
- Develops and types detailed reports by synthesizing relevant information from reports, correspondence, records, and electronic files.
- Prepares meeting materials, including agendas, presentations, handouts, binders, and supporting documentation.
- Drafts contracts, obtains required approvals and signatures, and monitors contracts throughout the approval process.
- Maintains and manages equipment and supply inventories for the Research and Statistics Department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
