Purpose
Responsible for all technology required for plant operations IT systems (email, user administration and applications, laboratory/business systems, and infrastructure) throughout their life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Design and create data mining and reporting solutions.
- Design and create websites as required to address reporting requirements.
- Coordinate IT system lifecycles according to short and long-term strategies that will maximize value to the business.
- Function as a trainer to encourage the use of Information Technology at all levels of the organization.
- Ensure projects are structured, within scope/cost, and completed within a defined timeline.
- Ensure critical systems are reliable by proactively measuring health and designing support strategies to minimize downtime.
- Maintain systems according to policies and procedures established for IT operations.
- Coordinates security and storage of all IT files, programs, databases, licenses, and systems.
- Maintains an inventory of all IT assets throughout the lifecycle.
- Ensures reliability and confidentiality of Information Systems.
- Addresses discrepancies in IT systems by evaluating issues and recommending improvements.
- PC support for software installation/configuration/hardware support.
- Organization and maintenance of IT system documentation.
- Operates areas within established specifications, guidelines, and budget parameters

Qualifications
- Degree required – Information Technology; Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years experience in the following areas:
o Operating system maintenance (Linux, Windows)
o Database support (aka DBA, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres)
o Networking design, troubleshooting, and support (Ethernet, TCPIP)
o Business System Support
o System Security/Information Protection
o User administration (Active Directory)
- Problem-solving abilities related to systems and operational issues.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to lift to 50 lbs
- Must be able to climb stairs
