Since our founding in 1928, Louisiana Steam Equipment Company supplies application-specific heating equipment including hydronic boilers, steam boilers, domestic water heaters, heat exchangers, steam traps, pumps and much, much more. We work with facilities managers, engineers, maintenance technicians, and contractors to develop and integrate smart, reliable solutions to even the most complicated steam or hot water system challenges. We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team.
Position Summary
The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for accurately processing customer payments, maintaining billing records, and supporting the accounting team with collections and financial reporting for multiple entities. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Send customer invoices in a timely manner.
- Post payments to customer accounts (checks, ACH, credit cards).
- Reconcile AR accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding billing or account status.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Assist with month-end closing and reporting.
- Support audits by providing documentation when needed.
- Interacts with Insurance agent for COIs.
- Run credit and reference check on new customers along with set-up and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate billing.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred)
- 1–3 years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Traverse, NetSuite, SAP, etc.)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Persuasive communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with high-volume invoicing
- Knowledge of GAAP principles
- Familiarity with CRM or ERP systems
- Familiarity with third party processing systems (ARIBA, Coupa, GEP, Actain, AES, etc.)
- Collections experience.

Salary : $38,000 - $45,000
