Hearing Committee Counsel, Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board

The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board (LADB), an agency of the Louisiana Supreme Court, is seeking to fill an upcoming vacancy in the position of Hearing Committee Counsel. Key responsibilities for this attorney position include:

·      Provide legal guidance to hearing committee members throughout the course of attorney disciplinary and disability cases.

·      Supervise case management/docketing functions.

·      Conduct legal research and draft memoranda or other materials for committee use;

·      Review completed hearing committee reports for legal accuracy and consistency;

·      Develop and maintain metrics to monitor and improve case processing.

·      Plan and conduct training for hearing committee members.

·      Develop and implement strategies to recruit qualified committee members.

·      Deliver CLE presentations on professional ethics and procedures set forth in Supreme Court Rule XIX.

Applicants must have no professional discipline of any kind, either private or public, on their record; must never have been the subject of a diversion opportunity; and shall have been eligible to practice law and in good standing with the Louisiana Bar for at least 5 years.  Experience working as a judicial law clerk, involvement in legal ethics as a substantive area of the practice of law, and working with volunteers or in a training capacity are highly relevant to this role.
