Board Counsel, Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board

The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board (LADB), an agency of the Louisiana Supreme Court, is seeking to fill an upcoming vacancy in the position of Board Counsel.

Key responsibilities for this attorney position include:

• Provide legal assistance and guidance on all matters pending before the Board’s Adjudicative Committee;
• Supervise case management/docketing functions for matters pending before the Board’s Adjudicative Committee;
• Provide assistance to Board Administrator and General Counsel, as needed, on other Board matters;
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda or other reports for Board use;
• Assist with preparation of the Board’s monthly e-newsletter; and
• Assist with preparation for and implementation of the Board’s Continuing Legal Education programs.

Applicants must have no professional discipline of any kind, either private or public, on their record; must never have been the subject of a diversion opportunity; and shall have been eligible to practice law and in good standing with the Louisiana Bar for at least 5 years. Experience working as a judicial law clerk, involvement in legal ethics as a substantive area of the practice of law, and working with volunteers or in a training capacity are highly relevant to this role.
