Position: Assistant Baseball Coach/ Pitching Coach | Full-Time EXEMPT position

Reports To: Head Baseball Coach
Summary
Louisburg College is a private, residential, two-year with enrollment ranging from 400-500 students.
The Assistant Baseball/Pitching Coach reports to the Head Baseball Coach and is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in carrying out all activities necessary to accomplish the objectives of the sport of baseball within the guidelines of the NJCAA, Region X, and Louisburg College. This role focuses on player development, mechanical analysis, and game strategy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Teach and provide instruction to baseball student-athletes on the fundamentals, details, and strategy of baseball as assigned by the head coach.
Design plan: Create daily, weekly, and seasonal pitching programs and throwing schedules.
Analyze mechanics: Use video tools and technology to fix mechanics and prevent injuries.
Plan bullpen sessions: Organize and run individualized bullpen workouts.
Assist the head coach in developing game strategies and roster building.
Counsel student-athletes in sport participation, personal developments, and academics.
Assist in monitoring student-athletes' academic progress, specifically for the pitchers to ensure eligibility.
Coordinate travel: Assist with road trip logistics, including meals, lodging if necessary, and practices schedules.
Assist with fundraising: Participate in community events, youth camps, and alumni fundraisers.
Assist with management of the JV Baseball team.
Work with the head coach to identify and recruit potential baseball student-athletes. Evaluate high school and transfer portal prospects to fit the program's needs.
Scout opponents: Build detailed scouting reports on opposing hitters to create game plans.
Work with admissions to enroll student-athletes.
Other duties as assigned by the Head Baseball Coach and Athletic Director.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
Ability to travel and recruit student-athletes.
Ability to learn and comply with all policies and regulations of Louisburg College and the NJCAA.
Ability to motivate student-athletes to become successful.
Work game day operations for other sports programs.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Previous coaching/playing experience at the collegiate level is required.
Knowledge of NJCAA Compliance Regulations, Region 10 Rules and Guidelines, and Louisburg College Policies.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with student-athletes, parents, and scounts.
A proven record of integrity, high principles, and demonstrated skill in developing and motivating student-athletes academically and athletically.
This position requires the ability to drive College vehicles; therefore, it is required that coaches and assistant coaches maintain a driving record that allows the insurance company to designate them as an "Approved Driver." Additionally, employees who are designated as approved drivers shall agree to a periodic review of their driving record, and they are required to self-report any moving violations (tickets) that could result in the removal of that designation.
